JR LaRose

by peaadmin

An accomplished speaker and facilitator with over 400 presentations throughout Canada and the United States, JR LaRose is a proud member of One Arrow First Nation, a 2011 Grey Cup Champion, and an ambassador for Aboriginal Peoples. JR’s path to success has been a long and hard fought journey, as he faced growing up in low-income housing in Edmonton’s inner city, never meeting his deported father of Nigerian heritage and his Mom being a survivor of the Residential School System abuses who struggled with drug addiction.

Through the power of sports JR was able to overcome these challenges and develop the skills and built the confidence to succeed. His story of redemption is universal, breaking down racial and generational walls, bringing forth a sense of hope and humanity while inspiring thousands. His pride in his native heritage and his heart for his fellow aboriginal people is the inspiration for his work as a speaker and facilitator bringing the message of always striving, always achieving.

Among the subjects JR can cover in his speaking engagements are:

Domestic Abuse

Healing from Sexual Abuse

Overcoming Obstacles

The Importance of Education

The Effects of Drug and Alcohol Addiction
